according to the definitive treaty concluded at Paris 10th February 1763." Library of Congress. No date.
Accessed 20 Mar. 2011. Web. This is a detailed map of North America after the 1763 Treaty of Paris. It is
believed to be created by Robert Sayer in London in 1763. It is a primary resource because it was created during
the time period of study. I used it on the "Consequences" page in order to allow the reader to compare different
maps of North America. <http://1.usa.gov/dO2Str>

A. Lovell & Company, 1892. Print. This booklet contains excerpts from the actual 1763 Treaty of Paris. It was
originally written in French, but there is a translation at the bottom. Although it was not created during my

order to gain more knowledge about how the treaty was arranged. <http://bit.ly/f7oi9B>

Secondary Resources
Books and Articles
Calloway, Colin G. The Scratch of a Pen: 1763 and the Transformation of North America. New York: Oxford UP, 2006.
Print. This book was definitely my most valuable resource. First, it provided the basis of the information for
several of my pages. Second, it gave me historical perspective by providing information about life in 1763. Third,
it has several of the effects and results of the 1763 Treaty of Paris. It is a secondary resource because the author
did not experience my time period of study.
Cave, Alfred A. The French and Indian War. Westport, Connecticut: Greenwood Press, 2004. Print. This book gave me
excellent but basic information on the French and Indian War (Seven Years' War). It focused mainly on Native
American and colonial conflicts, not conflicts between British and French. It is a secondary resource because the
author did not live during my period of study.
Curtis, Thomas D. "Land Policy: Pre-condition for the Success of the American Revolution." American Journal of
Economics and Sociology 31.2 (1972): 209-224. Print. This scholarly article talked about the use of land during
the pre-Revolutionary period, which includes the Seven Years' War. It gave me some perspective on what life
was like around that time. It is a secondary resource because its author was not alive during my period of study.
Fraser, Rebecca. The Story of Britain. New York and London: W.W. Norton and Company, Inc., 2003. Print. This book
contained a short excerpts about the Seven Years' War that were mostly in one-paragraph bits. However, it gave
me a wonderful insight to Great Britain's portion of the war. It is a secondary resource because it was not written
during my period of study.
Schweizer, Karl W. and M. Schumann. "Anglo-American War Reporting 1749-63: The Press and a Research Strategy."
Canadian Journal of History 43.2 (2008): 265-277. Print. This scholarly article gave me some information
about how the Seven Years' War was reported in the news during that time. Like the article by Thomas D. Curtis,
it provided perspective on life in the Seven Years' War period. It is a secondary resource because it was not
written during my period of study.
"Seven Years' War, The." The Kingfisher History Encyclopedia. Boston: Kingfisher Publications, 2004. Print. This
encyclopedia has basic information on the Seven Years' War. It discussed the major highlights and climax of the
battles, as well as a little about the effects. I used it as a basic resource to have background knowledge about the
war as a whole. It is a secondary resource because it was not written during my period of study.
"Seven Years' War, The." World History: Patterns of Interaction. Evanston, Illinois: McDougall Littell, 2005. Print. This
was a short excerpt from my school textbook. It explains the Seven Years' War as a conflict between
Austria and Prussia, and the French and Indian War as a conflict between the British and French. Dr. Phillip
Naylor, whom I interviewed, was a senior consultant for it (see below). It is a secondary resource because the
authors did not live during my period of study.
Thackeray, Frank W. and John E. Findling, ed.s. Events That Changed Great Britain Since 1689. Westport, Connecticut:
Greenwood Press, 2002. Print. This book contains many historical events that involved Great Britain, one of
them being the Seven Years' War. Like Rebecca Fraser's book, it focused primarily on Great Britain's
involvement in the war. It is a secondary resource because the author did not live during my period of study.
